I have some very fine roots growing in my flower beds. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

KAY O asked:

I think they are from some old trees that have been take out years ago. Every year I struggle with these little fine roots. I would really like to get rid of them but not damage my soil as I am ready to plat flowers in the beds.

I have a happy plant what is the best way i can keep it happy?

BlueCat asked:

It is indoor near windows so it gets some sunlight. I water it about every 1-2 weeks but it is really hot here in South Australia. Should i be watering it more often? I fertilse it about once a month with indoor fertiliser, should i do it more than that? It seems to have it ’s leaves curl under alot. Is this normal for a happy plant? Apart from that is it is green.
